Jane Taylor- Playwright
Colleen Jane Taylor is a South African playwright, scholar and curator whose artistic works focus mainly on the struggles of apartheid. She has written only a few plays, but is active in exhibit curating and is also a novelist and biographer.
From South Africa and the installation "Displacements" were collaborations between Taylor and David Bunn. Both of these works explored through multiple media forms the Years of Emergency towards the end of South African apartheid. "Fault Lines" was an exhibit at the Cape Town Castle which discussed truth and reconciliation. Ubu and the Truth Commission, based on Alfred Jarry's Ubu Roi was a collaboration between Jane Taylor and Director William Kentridge and the Handspring Puppet Company.
